Due to the 'unique' nature of the Discworld Emporium, we have made the difficult decision to keep our bricks and mortar shop closed to the public for now.
Anyone who has visited the Emporium will know that we have quite a small shop in which we also run our busy mail-order service. Our staff are frequently running about wrangling orders, answering phones and generally making mischief of themselves. Since lockdown, our online business has exploded and our shop floor has been taken over by mountains of stock, packing materials, and a temporary packing area. Creating a safe place for visitors alongside our staff and stock is sadly not possible for us at present.
Suffice to say it's going to take a while for us to work our how to move forward as a place of pilgrimage for Discworld devotees now that life is considerably more unreal.
This may disappoint those who are desperate to visit our little shop, however let it be understood that the Emporium is not so much a 'local' shop, but a conduit between worlds that welcomes travellers from all over Roundworld and the Disc. It is therefore not viable or safe to allow the well-travelled to queue outside for only a small amount of time in a shop festooned with stock and mess. As our team comprises 'vulnerable' sorts, we would also like to keep them protected while the dread menace persists.
So, the Emporium's doors remain closed for now, but we're lucky enough to be floating around in the nucleus of the most loyal and caring community of loonies fans in roundworld, so we know we'll bob out the other end just as buoyantly, if not a bit musty. The important thing is that we all support each other; customers, suppliers and staff of strange little literary shops - all we ask is that you stick and bear with us as we constantly adjust to this ever-changing situation.

WE ARE DEPENDANT ON A SUPPLY CHAIN FOR MANY OF OUR WARES AND PACKAGING. OUR SUPPLIERS ARE ALSO UNDER A GREAT DEAL OF PRESSURE, WITH STOCK/STAFF SHORTAGES, SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES AND BIGGER WORKLOADS, SO OUR RESTOCK AND SHIPPING TIMES WILL INEVITABLY BE LONGER AS WE WAIT FOR RESOURCES.
THE POSTAL SERVICE IS ALSO DISRUPTED AT THIS TIME, SO YOU MAY NEED TO WAIT MUCH LONGER THAN USUAL FOR YOUR ORDERS. MANY INTERNATIONAL DESTINATIONS ARE EXPERIENCING SIGNIFICANT DELIVERY DELAYS DUE TO LIMITED AIRLINE CAPACITY, GOVERNMENT RESTRICTIONS AND CONSEQUENT BACKLOGS.
