COVID-19  - Temporary Store Closure & Service Update

Due to the confounded Coronavirus outbreak, and being a retailer of non-essential our physical store in Wincanton is now closed to the public.
The Emporium is not only our shop but also our home, and while we love welcoming visitors from all over the world our resident team members are in the 'at-risk' category.
Therefore we have to prioritise the safety and well-being of our gang for the time being (or at least until we can find and check Bernard's last will and testament) and do our bit to stem the spread of this embuggerance.

We don't want to add to anxieties or scupper planned pilgrimages but equally we can't take unnecessary risks with our beloved founders and fans.

Wishing you all health, sanity, courage and comfort from all of us at the Emporium.

ONLINE ORDERING

We are delighted to confirm that we are still ‘Going Postal’, and our mail order service will continue as per government recomendation. We believe it is extremely important to keep minds entertained and imaginations ignited in these 'Interesting Times', so we look forward to supplementing your isolations with Discworld books and jigsaw puzzles.

The Emporium is fortunate to be a small cottage industry operating from premises conducive to maintaining a safe and viable online ordering service.
Our resident directors Bernard and Isobel are accommodated in closed-off living quarters, and we have made changes to our working practices to ensure a limited staff presence on-site with strict hygiene protocols in force to ensure the safe handling of orders and the protection of our team.

We shall continue to follow all government and Public Health England guidance to protect our business and maintain the wellbeing of our workforce at this time of unprecedented circumstances.

We are dependent on the postal service for collection and delivery, and on a healthy supply chain for some of our wares such as books. We ask for understanding that these services may be disrupted at this time due to overwhelming demand and the implementation of safe distancing measures. Our delivery times may therefore be longer than usual, so please consider this before you contact us regarding the whereabouts of your order.

DUE TO COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES WE ARE OPERATING WITH LIMITED STAFF, SO PLEASE BE PATIENT AND UNDERSTAND THAT IT WILL TAKE US LONGER TO SHIP ORDERS AND RESPOND YOUR ENQUIRIES

IF YOU HAVE INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR POSTMAN TO ENSURE A SAFELY-DISTANCED DELIVERY PLEASE DETAIL THEM IN THE COMMENTS BIT AT CHECKOUT.

Thank you for your understanding and support in this matter and profuse apologies for any inconvenience.
