At the Discworld Emporium we study the books with great care and then make what we see on the inside of our eyelids. It is a landscape that we know exceedingly well, and as our good friend Terry Pratchett writes new books, so we design and create new and ingenious tributes to his words.
We've been bringing Discworld to life for over twenty years, and during that time have created a wide range of figurines and a collection of limited edition sculptures known as The Unreal Estate that included the Unseen University, guild buildings, and even 'Bloody Stupid' Johnson's Mighty Organ.
Our shop in Somerset opened its doors in 2001 with Terry's name on the deeds, and has since become a must-visit for Discworld fans from all over the world. It is a place where Discworld becomes real, so real that in 2002 the Emporium's hometown of Wincanton was officially twinned with Ankh-Morpork in the first ceremony of it's kind, while a new housing estate boasts Discworld street names, including Treacle Mine Road and Peach Pie Street. We're also an official branch of the Ankh-Morpork Post Office, and the world's only Ankh-Morpork Consulate.
We host events twice yearly, including our annual Hogswatch celebrations at the end of November, and take our travelling shop on the road to give talks and sell our wares at Discworld conventions across the globe. Be sure to check our News Page for information on upcoming events and goings on!
At the helm of the Emporium is a small and skilled team comprising Bernard "The Cunning Artificer" Pearson, Isobel Pearson, Ian Mitchell and Reb Voyce. Everything we make is Terry Pratchett approved and designed in close collaboration with the author himself from our own studios. We work with reknowned Discworld artists and local craftsmen to produce authentic wares of the highest quality.
Along with official Discworld merchandise, we've also created everything from film props to exclusive items for limited edition books and DVD's, including banknotes for Making Money and stamps for Going Postal. We've also co-produced a number of Discworld publications including The Unseen University Cut-out Book, The Discworld Almanak, The World of Poo, and more recently The Compleat Ankh-Morpork. We provided artwork and consultation for the Discworld App from Transworld publishers, and art direction for Ankh-Morpork the board game from Treefrog Games. We're currently in the midst of exploring the entire Discworld for a new 'Atlas' due for publication in 2014 .
