At the Discworld Emporium we study the books with great care and then make what we see on the inside of our eyelids. It is a landscape that we know exceedingly well, and as our good friend Terry Pratchett writes new books, so we design and create new and ingenious tributes to his words.
We've now been bringing Discworld to life for over twenty years, and during that time have created a range of figurines and a collection of limited edition sculptures known as The Unreal Estate including the Unseen University, Guild buildings, Thunderer Printing Press, and 'Bloody Stupid' Johnson's Mighty Organ.
Our shop in Somerset opened it's doors in 2001, and has become a must-visit for Discworld fans and a place where Discworld becomes real. So real in fact, that we're also the official Ankh-Morpork Consulate, Post Office Branch, and Savings Bank. In 2002 the Emporium's hometown of Wincanton was officially twinned with Ankh-Morpork in the first twinning of its kind in the world, and in 2007 a new housing estate with Discworld street names, including Treacle Mine Road and Peach Pie Steet opened in the town.
At the helm of the Emporium is a small yet perfectly formed team comprising Bernard "The Cunning Artificer" Pearson, Isobel Pearson, Ian Mitchell and Reb Voyce. Everything we make is Terry Pratchett-approved and created with due care and attention to detail. We design everything from our workshops, collaborating with reknowned Discworld artists, and working closely with local craftsmen to produce authentic wares of the highest quality.
We host events twice yearly and from time to time, we take our travelling shop on the road to give talks and sell our wares at Discworld conventions across the globe. Be sure to check our News Page for information on upcoming events and goings on!
We have also had the fortune to collaborate on everything from film props to giveaway items for limited edition hardbacks books and film adaptation DVD's. Bernard has also coproduced the Unseen University Cut-out Book and The Discworld Almanak, and we are currently working with Terry to create a brand new Ankh-Morpork City Map, with more projects in the pipeline.
