Update 26th Aug 2025 – Due to the issue below, most major postal carriers are having a few days hiatus from shipping for the UK to the USA, in accordance we’ve temporarily disabled American shipping for a while whilst we update our systems and we’ll update you again when we’re back online! DEAREST AMERICAN FRIENDS & FANS . . . CHANGE IS A-COMIN’!
TLDR: From August 29th orders for delivery to America will be subject to a new import tariff, and we’ll be doing our very best to get shipping to the US up and running as soon as we can! (Orders placed before Aug 24th 2025 will not be subject to the new tariff/duties structure).
This is a rather complicated affair, so we’ll try to keep this brief.
On July 30th it was announced that from the 29th of August 2025, all goods sent from here in Jolly Old England to our friends across the pond will be subject to import duties. Previously, we had been able to offer our prices to you without UK VAT (a cousin of your Sales Tax), and so long as your order was under $800, you wouldn’t be charged US duties either. This remains the case until the 24th of August 2025 so we’re advising that if you’re really keen on something from our humble range, you consider purchasing it as soon as possible, and certainly before then to take advantage of ‘the good old ways’.
From Aug 29th, anything arriving in the USA must have duties already pre-paid, so we’re currently working on a new system which will allow for you to continue seamlessly shopping with us. Once fully implemented, you’ll be able to pay for your order and duties in one go, and we’ll pass the duties on to US Customs on your behalf. You’ll just have to sit back and await the arrival of your Discworld goodies, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Sadly there was not enough notice given by the US government, and there is still a lot of work to be done between UK businesses, postal services and carriers and US customs to allow us to establish the necessary new systems that will facilitate payment of the new tariffs. Our site will require a bit of extra kit, and our data will all need to be updated and tidied up to be compatible with those new systems… so it’s entirely possible that we’ll regrettably have to have a short break from shipping to America while we get everything implemented and running smoothly. We will do our very best to keep you updated as clearly and concisely as possible, but at the moment we’re having to make decisions based on systems that aren’t available to us currently, for services that don’t exist yet, based on numbers that haven’t been confirmed.
