Dearest American friends and fans, change is a-coming!
TLDR: American orders placed before Aug 24th 2025 will not be subject to the new tariff/duties structure! Thereafter we’ll be doing our very best! The rest of the world remains unaffected.
This is a rather complicated affair, so we’ll try to keep this brief.
On July 30th it was announced that from the 29th of August 2025, all goods sent from here in Jolly Old England to our friends across the pond will be subject to import duties. Previously, we had been able to offer our prices to you without UK VAT (a cousin of your Sales Tax), and so long as your order was under $800, you wouldn’t be charged US duties either. This remains the case until the 24th of August.
We understand that from Aug 29th, anything arriving in the USA must have duties already pre-paid. We’re currently working on a new system which will allow for you to continue seamlessly shopping with us. Once full implemented, you’ll be able to pay everything you owe in one go, and then we’ll take care of the rest for you. You’ll just have to sit back and await the arrival of your Discworld goodies.
BEFORE that happens, we have make sure that anything ordered will arrive with US customs well in advance of the 29th, so we’re advising that if you’re really keen on something from our humble range, you consider purchasing it as soon as possible, and certainly before the 24th of August 2025, to take advantage of ‘the good old ways’.
We’ve also been told that there are some major changes in terms of how our carriers can work, what they’re going to be able to agree upon with US customs, and how this can all be implemented from a technical standpoint. Our site will require a bit of extra kit, and our data will all need to be updated and tidied up to be compatible with new systems… so it’s entirely possible that we’ll regrettably have to have a short break from shipping to America. We will do our very best to keep you updated as clearly and concisely as possible, but at the moment we’re having to make decisions based on systems that aren’t available to us currently, for services that don’t exist yet, based on numbers that haven’t been confirmed.
In the meantime we will continue to work tirelessly to make sure we can offer a service that we’re proud of, at prices that cut-our-own-throat.
